Robert Hammond is, together with Joshua David, the co-founder of the Friends of the High Line, the entity that maintains, operates and creates programs for the High Line in partnership with the NYC Department of Parks & Recreation. In this interview, Robert tells a thriller-like story with the many twist and turns that arose in protecting, preserving and reinventing the former southern viaduct section of the New York Central Railroad, known as the West Side Line, into one of the most successful public attractions in New York City.
