We're back for the first episode of the new year with The Curse, an adaptation of "The Color Out of Space" that somehow isn't attributed to Lovecraft, spawned two entirely unrelated sequels, and, according to star Wil Wheaton, is only good for one thing: it gave his sister a job. But we disagree. The film is good for two things: giving Amy Wheaton a job and the clear Italian giallo influence in the practical gore effects. Aside from that, David Keith's directorial debut (hooray?) is the kind of horrific spawn that would drive even the bravest of souls mad.
