Born to a Panamanian mother and American father in Bronx, NY. Amy graduated in 1988 from a vocational school as a practical nurse which spearheaded her nursing career and calling. She joined the Army branch of the armed forces in 1996 and landed in San Antonio, TX shortly after basic training. Several years later, she completed a bachelor’s in nursing (BSN) degree in 2003 at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. She has served as a nurse in several specialties to include: rehabilitation, medical-surgical, pediatrics, geriatrics, home health, hospice, health insurance, and case management. Her decades of nursing have exposed her to learn and observe the many preventable chronic illnesses which sparked her passion for preventative medicine. In her role as a health coach, she helps others reach their health goals with a balance of nutrition, fitness, community, and healthy habits. Her passion is helping people achieve a greater quality of life by helping them believe in their intrinsic ability for lifelong transformation, one healthy habit at a time.
