In this episode of Bede’s Podcast, we explore the literary and sermonic legacy of the evangelical Anglican historian Henry Melvill Gwatkin, who was born near the beginning of the Victorian era in 1844 and who died in 1916. He is most famous for his work on the early heresy of Arianism; but we look at other aspects of his historical work before gleaning some lessons from a sermon that he preached on Isaiah 6, a few days after the death of Queen Victoria.
