The Australian Government decision to cancel National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) means students across Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 are spared the annual testing.
And CQU school testing and educational neuroscience expert Professor Ken Purnell says it’s a good chance for schools to shift focus.
Ken explains that other important areas of learning are often neglected in the stressful efforts to maximise NAPLAN test scores.
