As we return to Cross River Meditation Center my Tuesday Dhamma talk and our sangha discussion is on the Loka and Ratana Suttas. The Buddha’s Dhamma provides a direct and gentle refuge from a world aflame with passion.
“The world is aflame. Rooted in ignorance the world is afflicted by sensory contact and perceives suffering as ‘self.’ Rooted in ignorance, it misunderstands ‘self’ and becomes anything other than ‘self.’...” (Loka Sutta)
“As woodland groves in the early heat of summer are crowned with blossoming flowers, so is the sublime Dhamma leading to the calm and peace of nirvana…” (Ratana Sutta)
