—Here are 3 big things you need to know—
Three— The Minneapolis City Council could vote as soon as today on whether to add an amendment to the city charter to dismantle the police department. The possible move comes after council members approved a ban on police chokeholds and neck restraints as part of an agreement with the Minnesota Department of Human Rights.
Two— Seven people died after a car fleeing the U.S. Border Patrol crashed early Thursday morning in downtown El Paso, Texas. The crash was one of the deadliest in recent El Paso memory.
And number one— Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer signed an executive order Thursday that will allow for the return of professional sports, without a live audience. The order comes the same week Major League Baseball reached an agreement with the Players Association on a shortened 60-game season. The season will begin July 24 for the Detroit Tigers.
