Guess that artist. Never mind. It's Cherie Currie. What a show of arcane effluvium!!
Lou Christie - Indian Lady (1970) Stan Vincent also wrote "O-o-h Child" for The Five Stairsteps. They recorded for George Harrison's Dark Horse Records in 1976.
Roogalator - Cincinnati Fatback (1976) One-off single for Stiff Records. Love it.
Cherie and Marie Currie - Since You Been Gone (1979) Worse ways to get a hit than by regurgitating this rock classic. Cherie Currie was the young lead singer for The Runaways. Something tells me we will never know the complete story of Kim Fowley's combination of creepy misogyny and hyper-driven idea factory in his head. He tried and tried, and I've played his stuff on the show over and over.
"Chastity" promo (1969) Movie starring Cher. Written and produced by Sonny Bono. I sat through this once. Once. As I have said before, Sonny's misunderstanding of (and disdain for) the counterculture of the time infected everything he put his hands on.
Cherie Currie - Beauty's Only Skin Deep (1979)
Sha Na Na - Depression (1971)
Sha Na Na - Hot Sox (1974) I felt pretty uncomfortable playing this. So ya know. But I'm nothing if not a completist.
Sha Na Na - Just A Friend (1971)
Sha Na Na - Sha-Bumpin' (1975)
Yamasuki - Aieaoa (1971)
Anson Williams - I Wanna Believe In This One (1977)
Louis Armstrong and Leon Thomas - The Creator Has A Master Plan (Peace) (1970)
Blackrock - The New York City Bump (1975)
Rick Wakeman - I'm So Straight I'm A Weirdo (1980)
Amber - Introduction (1970?) I don't think I'll ever know who this was or why they either covered Chicago's "Introduction" or why they allowed themselves to be covered without credit. Does either of you know?
? - Beatles Rule (1964)
Big T Stigler and the L.D.S. Band - Cleo (1977)
Don High and Mighty - Black Cojack (1976)
Kokomo Arnold - Busy Bootin' (1935)
Joe Richie - How Do You Get Rid Of A Hippie (In A Country Western Bar) (1981)
Jack Allocco - Disco Madness (1978) From the Disco Fever soundtrack.
From IMDB: Late 50's teen idol Desmond (FABIAN) and his comical manager (CASEY KASEM) gets mixed up with a corrupt disco owner/music manager Cybill who wants to sign Desmond up for a contract only to use him for an opening act for a new disco singer (MICHAEL BLODGETT) on a new DISCO inside an airplane. Fabian sings 3 new songs (not disco) in this very lost gem.
Ringo Starr - Back Off Boogaloo (1981) The worst. The dregs of solo Beatles releases. Harry Nilsonn appears to have been a con-man with a nice voice.
P J Proby - That Means A Lot (1965)
XTC - Respectable Street (1980)
This is Black Sea, the 1980 album by XTC. Buy it. It is wonderful.
The Fifth Estate - No. 1 Hippie On The Village Scene (1967)
Advertisement for Ball Buster. A family game! (1975) You're a BALL BUSTER!!!
