Chris Lee (retired) joins the podcast after a storied career as the head coach at North Salem High School in Salem, Oregon. Chris coached numerous players who were drafted by Major League Baseball teams, including two players - Jed Lowrie and Rocky Gale - who reached the highest level of baseball in the world. In this discussion, Chris gives some insight into how that happened, in addition to how his teams constantly competed for league titles regardless of talent levels. He goes through his personal evolution as a coach, including how his 31 years as a high school teacher of psychology crept into the way he coached and motivated his players. He provides some ideas that coaches across the country can implement today to improve their players' leadership skills and motivation. Coach Lee also offered some phenomenal advice to coaches with families.
