Domestic Violence has risen across the world this year as a consequence of COVID and the impact it has had on families and communities. Financial insecurity, restricted movement and the mental health crisis are some of the major issues that feed this problem.
We were keen to have this conversation and start understanding how, in countries like Russia, domestic violence is common and seen as something that the family needs to fix, leaving victims with nowhere to turn if things go sour.
We had the pleasure of chatting to Julia Wiebe, Russian born and now living in Norway, she is a BJJ athlete, Mathematician and Geophysicist PhD.
