David Fox was enjoying a beer on the island of Bali. After just one sip he was tapped on the shoulder by a man who identified himself as a police officer asking “do you have something on you?” He did.

On Saturday 8th of October, 2016 journalist David Fox was enjoying a beer at the On-On Billiard Bar in Sanur, on the Indonesian island of Bali. After just one sip he was tapped on the shoulder by a man who identified himself as a police officer asking “do you have something on you?”.

He did.

And so began 8 months of hell in a Balinese jail.
