How does being a Ph.D. impact our children's perceptions of who we are and how do we explain to our children what we actually do? In this episode, Judith and Erin discuss their children's understanding of their work and how their professional lives and scholarly journeys have, in turn, impacted their parenting practices. The hosts discuss their experiences interacting with non-academic parents in playgroups and school events as well as whether or not their roles in academia lead them to set higher academic standards for their children.
