Poet, activist, peoples champion and founder of CARGO Movement joins Miranda Rae on The Word in October 2020.
CARGO which stands for "Charting African Reslience Generating Opportunities" has become a global movement offering for solutions that have been needed for a long time, addressing issues that often make people feel uncomfortable. Originally CARGO was a series of 12 poems but now Lawrence Hoo and CARGO has become and incredible organisation addressing many difference issues around transatlantic slavery. Lawrence speaks about when the statue came down at the Black Lives Matter Protest on Sunday 7th June 2020 and about a new project to connect the Black students of Bristol to the Black communities.
