What's good, Karma San Diegans? This week, we have a very special episode in honor of November 14th, World Diabetes day! Because Kelli is a Type 1 diabetic, we thought it would be fantastic to host and spread awareness with a badass Type 1 diabetic guest, Chelsea! Chelsea is a T1D who was diagnosed at just 6 years old in 2001. She has an incredible perspective, hysterical sense of humor and let's be real, Kelli has a serious crush on her. Chelsea is also Adrianna's third cousin, which in Italian translates a little differently. Curious how who your third cousin is? Sit back, relax, and check your blood sugar- we are in for a great episode!
Get ready to rip off your Adidas snap pants and get ready to hear the answers to some of life's greatest questions:
What is your Diagnosis Date?
If you were a bird, what kind of bird would you be?
How do you take your insulin?
How do you get high? How do you get low? Low, you ask? Low blood sugar, that is! Having a favorite and fun-filled low blood sugar snack can make all the difference in the world. Chelsea and Kelli scream and dance in memory of diabetes camp memories from Camp Wana Kura, and Adrianna soaks it all in with her giant eyes and educated questions to help everyone understand how loving and living with diabetics works!
We kept it all in the family this week! Our featured small business is the gorgeous Cat Rizzo of Cash and Kona! Chelsea chose to feature the artist that made the beautiful bracelets she was wearing during the recording, and we are obsessed. Each stretchy bracelet was customized to honor her late grandmother and the dogs that hold a key to her heart. We love a local artist living with intention! Find her on instagram at @cash_and_kona and on Easy: etsy/com/shop/cashandkona.
