EP 120: Tracy Brinkmann - Lessons From The Low Points And Advice For Entrepreneurs
Starting a business seems easy, right? Seems like someone you know starts a new Instagram business, influencer campaign or agency every other Tuesday. But without drive, a willingness to learn, and a dash of struggle, the vast majority of these “businesses” will cease to exist. So, want to know how to build yours up in a way that will last?
Tracy Brinkmann’s story begins in tragedy and sees him fight his way up to the pinnacle of corporate marketing, continuing on to the present day with the birth of Driven Dark Horse Entrepreneurs, Tracy’s podcast, on which he generously shares highlights from his wisdom as a top-tier business coach, centering on the truth that participation awards won’t feed your family and life just isn’t fair. Tracy’s show and his work are dedicated to entrepreneurs who are “starting, kick-starting and stepping up your entrepreneurial game all while not ignoring that amazing tool between your ears!”
On this episode of the Mind Body Business Show, Brian and Tracy dive deep on regularly identifying priorities and mining the feedback from failure to meet those priorities, the rewards that come back to your business when you begin to be discerning about the clients you take on, and some life-changing tips for those who are thinking about starting a podcast and those who have just barely gotten theirs off the ground. Listen in for an interview jam-packed with actionable insight that will change the way you do business for the better.
What You’ll Learn:
Favorite Quote:
“One of the things I like to do right in the beginning of the week is figure out one or two, and usually a maximum of three things I want to get accomplished during the course of that week. And that way when I reflect back on Friday… I go back and say, ‘Okay, how did I do this week?’ And if I got those one, two or three things done, I'm like, ‘I'm the man.’ Right? You know? And if not, then it's, you reflect a little deeper and you think, ‘Okay, where did I stumble, bumble, fall, trip, faceplant, whatever happened?’ Because, really, it's not failure at that point. And it's more feedback, right? You tried something, or you didn't try something. Well, if you tried it, and it didn't work, well, why didn't it work?”
