Award-winning essayist, Ilene Haddad, is a graphic designer, cartoonist and writer from Austin, Texas. Her work has appeared in outlets such as Austin’s NPR station, Foliate Oak Literary Magazine, the National Headache Foundation, and the Erma Bombeck Writers’ Workshop. In 2012, she began drawing a web comic, Casa Weenie, about her mixed/mixed up marriage. Her cartoons have appeared in High Shelf Press, The Syndrome Mag, and on her mother’s refrigerator. Ilene lives with her husband, Bill, and two useless lapdogs, all of whom inspire her work and feature prominently in her current project, a graphic memoir about married life.
