Army Veteran Lisa Peranzo, Fitness Coach, President, and CEO of A Healthful Life, enlisted in The Army via ROTC. During training, she got a severe injury that put her on the sideline for years. She underwent multiple surgeries and months of physical therapies. The Army allowed her as much time as she needed to rehabilitate and put herself in shape for the physical requirements and re-enlist. She did recover from her injuries, but unfortunately, she couldn't re-enlist because it will expose her recovered foot to extended physical strain, which wasn't recommended. However, her desire to live healthy, take care of her well-being, and get better physically and mentally has led her to the founding of her company, A Healthful Life, an organization that focuses on a holistic and customized approach to healthy living.
In this episode, Sgt BeReal talks to Army Veteran Lisa Peranzo and how an unfortunate incident while training in the army has helped her inspire and create a fitness company.
Key points:
In most cases, healthy living isn't a cookie-cutter solution. An effective route to achieve health goals is often tailor-made to the individual.
Every individual is unique and responds to health regimens and fitness uniquely. The approach has to fit that person.
Health and well-being are interconnected with the community.
