Confidence - where does it come from?
For me, I remember two pivotal moments:
1- In my undergrad years when I played volleyball at Southern Utah University, having "tan" legs was the thing. I had one problem. I'm a white, pale, redhead. Do you remember those lotions? They were supposed to make you tanner? Well, I used them on my legs because, you know, we are wearing spandex. But there was one practice that changed it. I took my knee pads off and socks and there were distinct lines from where the lotion rubbed off. After we all got a good laugh, I realized I needed to be myself and embrace my skin color as much as I LOVE my hair color.
2- I really can't pinpoint a moment but I can tell you, meeting my husband gave me this boost of confidence that I carried with me after I moved states away and we were then "long distance."
What I learned? Be confident in your own shoes. Nobody else has the same finger print as you.
