The book of Philemon is a short, personal letter written by Paul under house arrest. Even in chains and living as a prisoner, he continued to minister. In the letter, he compels Philemon in love to forgive Onesimus, his slave, and receive him not as a slave, but as a son. And in the letter, we see ourselves. We were all slaves to sin and useless to God. But now Jesus speaks to his Father in love and reminds Him of what he has done. Jesus asks his Father to accept us as His sons - and become useful laborers for God.
