He was considered a peer of Gershwin, a pop composer of many standards in he Great American Songbook such as "April in Paris", "Autumn in New York" , "Taking a Chance on Love" and "I Can't Get Started with you". But he was also a very successful composer of classical literature under his given name, Vladimir Dukelsky! He was a Russian immigrant in the post-WWI era.
