We've looked at the Passover Seder and Jesus' time in the Garden of Gethsemane before the actual crucifixion to see Jesus' behavior and the mental anguish we know He was going through. Now the mob has come in and taken Him to the High Priest. Here Jesus is, having been betrayed by His friend Judas, now betrayed by the very people who heralded Him in days before as He entered Jerusalem and also by His own priests. He is judged and the people choose crucifixion as His fate, though He has not committed a crime worthy of such a punishment (or any crime at all).
