There have been numerous businesses closing in Oakland over the last year, due to burglaries and violence. Many residents are fed up with Oakland Mayor Sheng Thao for a perceived lack of urgency to address the city’s issues with crime. Not to mention the mayor’s delayed decision to appoint a police chief over the Oakland Police Department. Residents have started petitions to recall both Mayor Thao and Alameda County DA Pamela Price.
