From the future of the office to why crypto currency exists, the first two days of New York Real Estate Tech Week flew by in a haze of coffee, coding and calls for collaboration.
The event kicked off with a conference on the future of the workspace where Glenn Hicks, east coast coordinator of workplace management software platform iOFFICE spoke to EG about the problems that can be caused when collaboration is sidestepped in the quest for technological advancement.
Then we spoke to two of the UK proptech cohort in New York for the event this week, Nick Katz of homesharing management tool Acasa and KPMG’s Nick Wright, about everything from fund raising and bridging the gap between CRE and tech to the differences between the UK and US approaches to innovation and investment.
Finally, we do our best to bring you some clear, simple insight from Tuesday's International Blockchain Real Estate Association (IBREA) blockchain conference as tech entrepreneur Bill Staniford took on the challenge of explaining why crypto currency exists in under eight minutes.
