Clean and dirty pain.
What is that?!
Clean and dirty pain comes from the emotional pain and suffering that we feel. This pain comes from the way we are thinking about situations and circumstances. Some of what we are thinking we are conscious about. Some we are not always.
The way we help get some clarity and consciousness is to just slow things down a little and be more aware of what's going through our heads.
Clean pain is the pain that is useful and necessary. The reason for this is that it helps us process, cope, and move through the pain of what we are experiencing. Dirty pain on the other hand comes when we add drama to the initial clean pain with the thoughts in our head. As soon as we start doing this we layer the emotions.
