Esther Blum is an Integrative Dietician and author based in Connecticut, where she runs a busy private practice. Over the years, Esther has coached thousands of women to help them eliminate the need for medication, lose stubborn belly fat, reverse chronic illness, and smile when they look in the mirror. She's passionate about helping more people shift the cultural conversation around food so that you can eat more healthily but also teach your children that good food is great fuel for our bodies. Together with her 11-year-old son, Esther has developed a 6-week online program, Nutrition School for Families, to address all the tough food and health challenges that we face at home such as food battles, sleep issues, sensory issues, picky eaters, ADHD, constipation, overweight children and body image issues, and immune function.
Just like I do, Esther believes that with the right mindset and the willingness to plan ahead and get organised, you can eat a healthy diet, even if you're a busy mum. You can learn to sustain your body with the right kind of energy that will get you through the day, train your body to crave healthy food, and teach your children good eating habits from a young age.
In this episode, you'll learn how to set your children up for a lifetime of healthier choices just by having clear boundaries around food. You'll also find out why eating meals as a family, preferably without technology, is important in helping your children develop a healthy mindset when it comes to their meal preferences. If you have a picky eater in your family, you'll learn some strategies that you can use to encourage your little ones to try new foods, and you'll even find out why the temperature and texture of certain foods can be an issue for some children.
