Inside the She Cave: Trailblazers, Innovators, Rule Breakers
Society & Culture
Modern Dance was born in America during the turn of the 20th century when a number of choreographers and dancers rebelled against the rigid academic dance establishment, and instead expressed a free-form dance environment celebrating woman. Isadora Duncan is one of the “Mothers of Modern Dance,” expressing soft and flowing movements and bright costumes. Today, Lori Belilove embodies Isadora’s life and work as the founder and Artistic Director of the Isadora Duncan Dance Company and Foundation, and third generation dancer and choreographer. She joins podcast host Cindy Glanzrock for a compelling conversation about the history of modern dance, expanding the dance company and school, programming upcoming performances, and the timeless and passion-driven movement of Isadora Duncan’s dance repertoire.
Check out upcoming performances by the Lori Belilove & Isadora Duncan Dance Company and Foundation:
