You can tell me, what’s your favorite thing to spend money on every week that just makes you feel good? These little treats, we all do them. And guess what, we all feel really good when we make an impulse buy - it’s like a quick dopamine hit, a rush. So that you know, you’re not alone - 55+ million people on TikTok have created a trend called “little treat culture.” It’s a trend where people impulsively treat themselves for a quick boost of happiness. So, with 55+ million people strong, I think this is something we need to talk about. On today’s episode, Ashley Lapato, money and lifestyle expert @theorganizedwallet, helps me break down little treat culture. Ashely says, “Eliminating impulsive spending isn't the solution, but unsubscribing from the narrative that “little treats” mean you're bad with money (ahem, avocado toast). Instead, give yourself permission to budget for impulsive "little treats," knowing that it will bring you joy today and won’t take away from your financial goals tomorrow."
