This week – really a bittersweet week for me.  The last family member (besides me) has left the home and what turned into an amazing place to raise my kids - has now transformed into a silent hall with nothing but memories.  I try to recapture moments - only to become more sad as I look for distractions.  I have to remind myself that this was the way it was supposed to happen - and as she is headed to college and I am headed to Europe - i now can relate with the grief that parents feel when their goal is accomplished and their kids begin their adult lives.  On the other side of the coin - my wife is scheduled to get keys to our new home in Copenhagen where I hopefully find a place to play music and make new friends.  Lots of crossroads - all at once - and I am grateful that I have these opportunities - but bittersweet it is.
