For today’s episode, I talked with my longtime friend Karin Dewey. Karin grew up on a farm in rural North Dakota, and now lives in the Orlando, Florida area. We talk about how we met through the International Flying Farmers, her family’s connection to Walt Disney World, and we take a deep dive into homeschooling. She says comparison is the thief of joy, and she gives tips and resources for parents preparing for the next school year. With 12 years of homeschooling experience, she stresses the importance of reading with our kids and fostering a love of learning. Below are some of the resource recommendations Karin and I mention in this episode that are helpful for a variety of learning scenarios including in-person at school, remotely because of Covid-19, or homeschooling.
