The Pride Road Architects Podcast
Business
Anne Okafor is a Construction Planner based in central Scotland. She comes from a background in hospitality and retail management and is a recent entrant to the Construction Industry starting out just six years ago. In that short time Anne has been fortunate to have worked on an interesting mix of projects including, residential, commercial and conservation; in different capacities, whilst studying for her BSc Honours in Construction Management at Glasgow Caledonian University.
After graduating with First Class Honours in 2019, Anne has embarked upon an MSc in Quality Management to further her understanding and experience, as a progression from writing her first dissertation, which evaluated the relationship between quality management and organisational culture.
Anne has worked with young and new professionals in built environment disciplines, since 2015, to support them upon entering the industry and acting as a signpost to personal and professional development opportunities available to them.
During this time, she has represented young and new professionals in several forums, within the Chartered Institute of Building, and in wider Industry, through collaboration with other young professional networks and education institutions.
She is also the Founder of The Determinator Collective and hosts her own podcast, The Everyday Determinator. In her free time, she supports Collabed, who are a social networking platform with social media management and event planning, is a STEM Ambassador and Girl Guiding Leader (in training) for a Brownies Group.
The Pride Road Franchise grew out of Founder Lisa Raynes’ refusal to accept that there was only one way for a woman to have an architecture career and a family life. She built her practice in the domestic sector, and then invested to turn her business into one that other ambitious architects wanting work/life balance can buy into. She’s had a seat on the RIBA Council (2015-18), been Chair of Women in Property NW and founded Manchester Curious, an urban architecture outreach festival. A key focus of the Pride Road Franchise business in a box is the fully-automated customer relation management system, this system helps lead a flow of new clients to our franchisees.
