Hey monkiis,
My daughter just turned 1 a few weeks back and in reflecting on the last year, my wife suggested that I talk about how I have changed my training regimen to fit better into family life. Essentially, I have gotten rid of formal workouts, and instead I train 2-4 times throughout the day in 'microworkout' sessions. This could be a morning yoga session, a monkii workout midday, or throwing on the weight vest for a stroll around the block. It's all about seeing the opportunity in every moment and being prepared to make the most of the time that you do have.
I used this concept to complete the Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim-to-Rim this past Spring. I felt great and it was never a huge hassle to train. Interestingly, I also felt better in general. Even though I may have been doing more total volume, it was in a non-exhaustive way. The experiment goes on...
Thanks for listening!
