An opening track should be more than simply the first song you hear on an album. A really good opening track sets the tone; it tells you what to expect from the rest of the album. But the BEST opening tracks are a statement of intent. It's a declaration. It's shots fired. We talk about some of our favorite opening tracks ever with our friend Courtland Lewis.
