Self-awareness is freedom

Aug 6th, 2020 12:54 AM

This is a visual podcast that tries to incorporate footages shot by its narrator, Anushray Singh; the audio-visual intermix in a "meaningful" manner may enhance the themes discussed in the podcast. Self-awareness is freedom: Though it is quite scary but necessary. The real challenge that presents itself is both explicit self-awareness but realizing the judgements that other people have of you doesn’t all translate into what and who you really are. It’s a reality that whatever actions you might take, virtuous in all its inception, they somehow will gain detractors. There will be people who may not like you despite all your best qualities; does that mean we should exercise our self-awareness to change? Well, this will just lead to self-consciousness, fear and anxiety. You can’t please anyone and everyone, but that doesn’t mean there is no validity and lessons to be learnt from others. On Self-image

Jun 23rd, 2020 8:04 PM

Create a self-image in your mind through cognitive mental gymnastics of self-education, questioning and self-awareness. I learnt that admitting your shortcomings is excruciating, but it indeed develops a self-image that you can envision in your own head which isn’t a by-product of some religious dogmas or advertising machinery. Natural confidence stems from the way you look at yourself. When you look at the mirror in the morning: do you despise yourself? or do you narcissistically worship yourself? or do you look at yourself as someone you really care about? These kinds of self-questioning are the initiation for self-examination to create this self-image of yourself that you can love. On Happiness

May 30th, 2020 12:54 AM

This is a visual podcast which tries to incorporate footages shot by its narrator, Anushray Singh; the audio-visual intermix in a "meaningful" manner may enhance the themes discussed in the podcast. In this episode I talk about “Happiness,” which is complicated. On the face value, it may seem quite simple - spread your palms, and life will place it in your hands, but in our human experience, this doesn’t really happen. In my almost twenty-five years of existence on this planet Earth, I can attest to one fact, happiness is a fleeting concept. In modern definition, the route to happiness is in its pursuit. Popular culture - movies, songs, TV and social media entrenches this pursuit in terms of working hard or hustle. This hustle is for money, a great house, a car & a loving partner. This is the basic gist of the pursuit of happiness. I hate oversimplification, and this seems greatly oversimplified.

In today's episode, On Absurdity of Life, we discuss the anti-philosophical stance of French-Algerian philosopher Albert Camus. Through his understanding of the absurdity of human condition which he compares to the myth of Sisyphus, we may seek comfort in knowing that the meaninglessness of our lives can give us the requisite courage and hope to live in defiance; which according to Camus means feeling fulfilled in our willingness to live life.
