In this new series called, “Ask Me Anything”, I’m answering specific questions from women in our community while also using it as an opportunity to highlight our incredible listeners.
In this episode, I’m addressing one of the most commonly discussed challenges among our audience; imposter syndrome. I share my experience with it, how I move through it, and the confidence hack I use to show up confidently every day (even if it feels hard).

Do not miss these highlights:
00:55 I’m launching a new podcast episode series around “Ask me anything.”
01:12 I will be creating content that aligns with my people's goals, desires, and challenges. It will be all about what they want to hear versus what I want to talk about.
01:51 I am allowing things to be more fluid than rigid in my business approach this time.
02:39 In this episode, I will be welcoming and showcasing the question from Tonya Herb.
02:56 The first time Tonya and I met was when another client brought her as a guest to the Category Queen Live Event in Texas in the fall of 2022 last year, and she became a client after that event.
03:40 We talk about sharing our own experiences because we had a similar story in deciding to walk away from the corporate and what that looked and felt like.
04:05 Tonya is now a full-time coach and it's been so fun to watch her crushing it!
04:16 Watching Tonya really lean into her brilliance and change the lives of other corporate leaders is just so amazing.
05:05 So Tonya asked, “How do you silence imposter syndrome and show up competent and authentic in your own authority?”
05:27 I share my own struggles with impostor syndrome in my past corporate career.
07:00 One of the things that really shifted for me was when I was having a conversation with a woman in that company at the time who was about twenty years older than me.
07:45 I was able to see that imposter syndrome isn't something that is unique to me. It is something we should all move through.
08:15 Anytime I realized that everybody experiences this and continues to experience it, it just softens the feeling.
09:28 I will remind myself that I’m not my thoughts and I can be separated from that.
09:55 When I think about silencing the imposter syndrome, I think that I should not be suppressing it.
10:12 Normalizing it, softening it, and moving forward with that instead. This is another element of showing up confidently, with authenticity, and owning your authority.
10:42 There's still this innate question that always comes up, “can I really help this person?”
11:02 I see this as a good thing and I never want that feeling to go away. I never want to not think about helping my clients.
11:15 It keeps me humbled, it keeps my purpose at the forefront. It keeps mealways on my feet.
11:57 When we shift into that feeling of joy and that energy of service, it allows us to feel just so excited about our expertise, and that energy is palpable.
12:22 So owning your authority is just you deciding it.
12:56 You get to define with regards to how you want to define it, you are an expert of you.
13:28 When it comes to this, for me it really is a conscious decision every single day.
13:58 Some days it feels harder. So I pay attention to my cycle because that emotion impacts what I lean on now.
14:42 Live out all of those experiences, all those moments, knowing that it is just a part of the process.
15:42 Even if some days you feel less confident, show up in your full brilliance and just go and just do it.
16:05 Tonya Herb’s info will be included here in the show notes so please go connect with her.
