“Sometimes you've got to save them from themselves and have some really honest, heart-to-heart conversations about their role.”
Chief, in today’s minisode and YouTube video, I’m going to cover a little problem that has come up repeatedly over the last few years and that is right person, wrong role.
This is when you have a great employee in your stables, but they’re not performing to the standards required of the role. But this is not always what it seems; often this is due to the role not being a good fit for their skill set or experience.
This can have all sorts of implications on the business, so you need to make some bold calls and have some difficult conversations, but always with respect.
