This is the edited recording with annotations of the talk given by Sis Sylvia Bay on Sat, 18 July 2020 at Buddhist Fellowship 'Facebook Live'.
Wrong View (micchādiṭṭhi) blind and bind us in samasara deluding us and creating conditions for unwholesomeness (akusala) and suffering (dukkha) to ourselves and others. In this talk, Sis Sylvia Bay first distinguishes what is meant by Wrong View from mundane views; the dangers of wrong view and in particular, how we end up having wrong views due to our pre-disposition of ignorance (avijjā) impacting on (a) the four perversions of perception, mind and view, (b) identifying form as self, self as form, form in self and self in form, that is, the 5 aggregates of grasping, and (c) kamma.
Sis Sylvia further explains how the peril of wrong view has a heavy consequence on spiritual practice and stream-entry. For the last part of the talk, how one, when anchored on right View, practising dāna (giving/generosity), sīla (morality) and bhāvanā(mental cultivation) will result in daily wholesome living is covered.
