The Retirement Enhancement and Savings Act of 2018, or RESA for short, is a piece of bipartisan legislation currently making its way through Congress. The legislation, introduced in the Senate, proposes to amend the internal revenue code and ERISA, with the ultimate goal of helping more Americans obtain access to retirement savings vehicles. Currently, an estimated one-third of private sector workers do not have access to a workplace retirement savings vehicle and an estimated 42% of Americans are not financially ready to go into retirement.
We’re joined by Congressman Mike Kelly, who represents Pennsylvania’s 16th district and is a member of the House Ways and Means Committee, to discuss the RESA legislation and its implications for Americans should it pass.
