The duo discuss the myopia of current conversations around house prices and why the recovery of the market rests less on interest rates than you might think.
Arjun explains why you can already see a national turnaround from the downward trajectory of mid-2022. He credits the complex combination of a number of factors for kicking off a return of buyers, including: undersupply in properties for rent, rate rises mostly in the rear view, policy changes, population uptick and the perception of prices still being depressed.
Of course, the pair discuss why it’s also imperative to look at the micro-trends in any market you’re investing in and why for better or worse, the national trajectory may have little impact in your corner of the country.
