Join us for a morning business conference for creative entrepreneurs! Hear from local industry leaders, sharing their stories of community over competition and learn collaboratively through medium specific break out sessions.
Katrina Berg is on the show chatting all about creating joy with her amazing paintings, finding "balance" as a mom and artist, and how she incorporated her children in her process. We also have an awesome conversation about color palettes and how we make color choices.
About Katrina:
Katrina grew up in Southern California. After receiving her Bachelor’s from Brigham Young University, she followed a childhood dream and entered the Architecture Program at University Nevada Las Vegas. Summers spent abroad in France and Italy, fueled a love affair for art, design & she became obsessed with painting in oil.
Katrina’s candy-colored oil paintings are recorded memories of favorite places of things with a good dose of pastel colors to keep life sweet. Formally trained as a landscape architect, Katrina loves to bring the “outside in” by painting the natural world. Each shiny painting is broken into small pieces of light and color like that found in stained-glass inviting light and color wherever they abide.
Recently, she was awarded the “Juror’s Choice” award at the Utah Women Artists Exhibition (2018). Katrina has participated in many exhibitions in Utah as well as in the Boston Area, galleries, and local plein air events in Heber Valley. Her work is found in private collections across the United States as well as in Europe, Israel, Canada, Japan, & South America.
Over the past few years she has enjoyed sharing tips and strategies with other artists to improve their art business, marketing, and social media at the Sears Art Museum as well as the Springville Museum of Art. She has served on local art chapter boards and helped with art programs in local schools.
When she’s not painting, gardening, or concocting with her kiddos in the kitchen, she loves to spend time outside with her family. Katrina & her husband live in a quirky but modern concrete home in Midway, Utah with their 4 sons (including twins), and daughter.
