Rather than providing a forum to discuss research that is conducted in health and physical education, the Going Behind the Research segment focuses on telling the stories that surround research we read in scholarly journals. Globally, the segment aims to humanize research by providing a forum to discuss the movies that draw researchers toward particular topics and studies, challenges and successes experienced along the way, and lessons learned that transcend individual journal publications (e.g., lessons learn that impact future research decisions). Each episode will feature an interview with one or member members of an authorship team. Including a brief overview of the study, the common interview guide (linked below) will be used to facilitate each individual conversation. The conversations will, however, be unique in that follow-up questions will address topics raised by each interviewee.
This episode covers the following article and is hosted by Kevin Richards from the University of Illinois
Gaudreault, K. L., & Woods, A. M. (2013). Factors leading to career frustration and exit: A case of a veteran physical educator. Journal of Physical Education and Sport Management, 4(4), 51-61.
