The boys preview the fields and the standout favourites in the three headlining events in this coming weekend:
Zatopek:10 featuring Jack Rayner, Pat Tiernan, Rose Davies and Caitlin Adams.
Valencia Marathon featuring Lisa Weightman, Izzy Batt-Doyle, Eloise Wellings and Gen Gregson.
Fukuoka Marathon featuring Brett Robinson and Ed Goddard.
Pat Tiernan returns to the show and chats with Brad about the past few years, changing groups from Oregon Track Club to Puma Elite Running in North Carolina, giving observations on the different coaches he’s run under and adjusting to the training intensity of each group.
Pat recaps his 2:11:02 marathon debut in Chicago last year, then dealing with the challenges of injuries at various parts of the year that followed that excluded him the World Championships in Budapest, but then leading into the return to form with his second place in the Boston Half Marathon just weeks ago.
Pat chats about his return to Australia and family and his preparations for Zatopek, what he expects from the race and how it fits into his future plans, weighing up the pathway to qualify for the Paris Olympics via the 10000m against the marathon.
He closes out with how the heat in North Carolina compares to Queensland and how he rates the current lineup of Puma shoes.
