Sure, Beatport is famous for seriously fucked-up tracks in their top tiers that make you wonder if someone isn't manipulating the songs to get them ranked higher but this darkness has been going on for a couple of months now.
I generally find that current trends in underground house music are a reflection of the times. Let's just say folks are getting more cynical. I alluded to this in my 2017 kickoff post The Best Dance Music Podcast PERIOD! | 10-Year Anniversary. More people are using TOR to surf the net and more and more of us have turned to What's App and Signal for our personal communications. These are scary times and the music is a reflection of those sentiments.
Now, I'm not here to rouse everyone but when I found out that free sites like Family Tree Now give out a lot of personal information like your home address, previous address, phone numbers, current and past relationships, family members, and on down the line to anyone and everyone who looks you up; this shit is getting creepy. Fortunately, you can opt-out and I would HIGHLY recommend it.
Far be it for me to spoil your fun. So, I spent the better part of a day combing through promos, Beatport, Traxsource, and Junodownload to complete this and next week's Funky House set to pull together some of the freshest beats that don't make you want to slit your wrists. Most of this stuff leans towards House Music but there are some Techno and Tech House tunes to round it out. Forget about Deep House cause that genre has gone off the rails. Nevertheless, I worked this shit OUT!
