Now's the time of year when things are starting to ramp up for many athletes. Workouts are getting harder and longer, and with that can come added pressure. This self-imposed pressure can mean that when workouts are inevitably missed due to sickness, work, family, or other responsibilities athletes find themselves getting derailed. Taylor covers his top three tips for coping when things don't go as planned.
1.) Nothing is made in one workout! Training is about consistency over time, not a few sessions.
2.) Re-focus your mental and physical energy towards what's to come. Don't get bogged down on the missed workout(s).
3.) If you're forced to take an extended break it may be time to re-tool. Set yourself up for success by adjusting expectations and goals, and re-entering training the right way.
