We’ve all heard the disturbing news that communities of color have been experiencing the highest rates of severe COVID-19 outcomes, including hospitalization and death. It turns out that situation is on top of previous unsettling statistics about higher incidence of many other diseases in those communities. Our guest, Richard W. Walker, Jr., MD, will help us understand the connections, causes and, more importantly, how to prevent and solve the problems. Regardless of race, we will all learn useful health information because Dr. Walker is Board Certified in Functional and Age Management Medicine. He specializes in helping the elderly, chronically ill and veterans. His latest book is Black Health Matters: The Vital Facts You Must Know to Protect Your Health and Those of Your Loved Ones. We enjoyed having him on several years ago to discuss his terrific first book, African-American Healthy: What You Need to Know to Protect Your Health.
