Meet Coach Stephanie. Today is her birthday! For this week's episode, we are bringing back the podcast she recorded last summer--and its about something we all struggle with: Eating healthy in environments that aren't so healthy. Enjoy this throw back episode, and make sure to tell Stephanie happy birthday!
She is 35 years old, grew up in the Angleton/Lake Jackson area, and graduated from Texas A&M in 2009. After college, she decided to go into ministry and got into Crossfit while doing ministry in Houston.
In this episode, she and Charlie discuss how it can be difficult to eat healthy while living on campus. Stephanie is grateful that she had a group of friends who were always active, whether that was going to the Rec center or getting together to play volleyball.
Stephanie also shares about a bad car accident she experienced in 2015 that lead to a difficult concussion recovery. Despite taking time to recover, she kept experiencing strange symptoms wile working out, and was eventually diagnosed with Dysautonomia. However, she was determined to keep exercise in her life as she knew she felt better when she did. Now she knows what she needs to do to treat the symptoms so that she can keep Crossfit and exercise in her day-to-day life.
If you want to hear how Stephanie does NOT let her diagnosis define her, give this episode a listen. This is one you do not want to miss!
