Reece Edwards, 3rd placegetter in the Melbourne Marathon in 2:14:41 and National Marathon Champion joins the boys to talk about how he’s recovering from multiple marathons to the lead up to the Ultra Trail Australia 100k. Reece recaps his performance at Melbourne and how he rates it in context to his build up, what impact racing the Sydney Marathon had and dabbling ultras. Reece shares how the Melbourne running scene compares and how his recruitment into the St Stephens Harriers came about before rounding out with his background in endurance.
Pat Tiernan ran 2:11:02 on debut at the Chicago Marathon placing 16th overall. Pat’s time was the second fastest Australian debut of all time behind Jeff Hunt. Ruth Chepng’etich ran the second fastest marathon of all time in 2:14:18, 14 seconds behind Brigid Kosgei’s 2019 World Record at Chicago. Em Sisson broke the American Women’s Record for 2:18:29 while Conner Mantz ran the second fastest American debut in 2:08:16. Benson Kipruto won outright in 2:04:24.
