Bret “Epic” Mazur is a record producer, and founder and frontman of rap rock group Crazy Town. In the early 90s, he and Wolf formed a successful production duo, “Wolf And Epic”, working on projects with Prince, Seal, The Rebirth of Cool, New Edition and Bell Biv Devoe. In this episode, Bret talks about life on the road with Crazy Town, the vagaries of the music business, the highs of performing and the seduction of substance addiction. He shares stories of hitting bottom and how he was able to overcome the pitfalls of rock notoriety with the help and encouragement of others and by learning the healthful practices of meditation, breathing exercises and managing the ego. Bret graciously shares some of his favorite meditation techniques as well as the benefits of his devoted gratitude practice.
