EAT SLEEP WINE REPEAT: A wine podcast
Arts:Food
You can download the transcript HERE
In this episode, I am joined by the incredibly talented winemaker Paul Pujol who makes the wines of Prophet's Rock in Central Otago. This episode you will not only learn about the wine region of Central Otago but also Paul's journey chasing harvests around the world including time at Kuentz Bas, Alsace and Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé, Burgundy.
Alsace certainly had the biggest influence on him, so there is quite a big focus on this region.
Learn from a cool climate specialist winemaker how vintages vary and what winemaking techniques he chooses to use.
If you fancy jumping ahead, see below. However, the conversation takes many twists and turns so I suggest you listen to it all the way through:
1m02 - Chat with Paul
3m38 - The beginning of Pauls winemaking journey in New Zealand and then to France
8m03 - The Story of being stuck in Alsace
12m09 We are tasting the Prophet's Rock Pinot Gris 2018
14m00 - Central Otago's Climate and Geography
26m23 - Paul's winemaking journey continues to Oregon
33m58 - Discuss of vintage variations and what solar and mineral vintages are
36m43 - We are tasting the Prophets's Rock Home Vineyard Pinot Noir 2015
