The Ag Economy Barometer rose in March to 177, the highest reading for the barometer since the record high reading of 184 in October. Strong ag commodity prices and improved farm financial conditions continue to support the Ag Economy Barometer readings as we head into spring. This month’s survey was conducted from March 22-26, 2021. Purdue ag economists James Mintert and Michael Langemeier review the results and give some insight into the March 2021 Ag Economy Barometer survey, a nationwide monthly survey of 400 ag producers.
