Pam Varkony has worked on four continents as a writer and advocate covering topics from business ethics to the status of women in the developing world. She has won numerous awards and recognition for her writing and humanitarian work and has twice traveled to Afghanistan. However, the recent political events there brought all of her other projects to a halt as she focused on chronicling the stories of her Afghan friends and doing what she could to assist in their escape. Pam has been published in major U.S. newspapers and magazines and heard on National Public Radio. In 2017 she was named a Pearl S. Buck International Woman of Influence.
